Celebrate Opportunities
In each of the previous reasons to celebrate in 2008, there are shown to be opportunities to serve one another, to share Christ and His gospel with others, and to grow in one's own knowledge and faith.
As we celebrate salvation, we are aware of opportunities to share the gospel with others. Here at Duluth, we have many means of doing this, via television, radio, print media, and the Internet.
As we celebrate worship, we see opportunities to take part in worship, whether in leading where able, preparing communion, or simply (not to be understated!) doing one's best to participate in worshipping in spirit and in truth.
Celebrating our leadership makes us aware of opportunities to assist our leaders in their work, through developing our own leadership skills, volunteering to assist with the actual work, and through words of encouragement and prayers for their continued ability to lead, just to name a few.
Opportunities arising from celebrating our youth can take the form of mentoring and encouraging them, volunteering to teach a class, or hosting or chaperoning an activity. Our young people can take advantage of the planned activities as opportunities to encourage one another, grow in their own faith and knowledge, and to bring others to Christ.
In celebrating our “Golden Oldies,” we have the opportunity to both help ourselves and encourage them by listening to and learning from their wisdom, encouraging them to participate in the church's other programs and events, and by assisting them in their everyday activities as needed.
As we celebrate fellowship, we have the opportunity to be strengthened in our daily walk by sharing our burdens and blessings with others, to have a richer earthly life because of the friendships we make in the church, and to have joy in the knowledge that these friendships will carry on into eternity.
